Replicants will get a superhero boost in the upcoming sequel to the classic movie “Blade Runner.” The Wrap reports that director/producer Ridley Scott has chosen “Green Lantern” writer Michael Green to pen the script. Their sources also revealed that the follow-up film will be set “some years after the conclusion of the influential first film.” The original sci-fi classic was adapted by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples from Philip K. Dick's novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” When he takes the reins, Green will bring an action-packed sensibility to the project -- aside from “Green Lantern,” he wrote for “Smallville,” “Heroes,” and “The Flash.” The big remaining question now is whether star Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Deckard. “I don't know yet,” Scott said last October of Ford's involvement. "Is he too old? Well, he was a Nexus-6 so we don't know how long he can live [laughs]. And that's all I'm going to say at this stage.” According to The Wrap, Scott is "courting Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Rick Deckard." Ford seems open to the possibility; his participation in the new “Star Wars” movie indicates he's willing to return to previous franchises. “It might be nice, depending on the circumstances, to revisit any one of those characters,” he told MTV of reprising old characters. “What interests me now is the opportunity to work at all and to work in ambitious projects … It doesn't matter if it's one of those. If it's one of those, great. If it's not, that's fine too.” [via The Wrap]
