Han Solo. Indiana Jones. Anchorman?
That's the latest sure-to-be-iconic role in Harrison Ford's arsenal, as the Hollywood Reporter announced today that Ford is joining the cast of “Anchorman 2.”
According to THR, Ford will play a Tom Brokaw-type veteran newscaster in the sequel to 2004's “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” The film began shooting this month.
Few details have been revealed about “Anchorman 2,” but Ford's casting follows the recent addition of Kristen Wiig to the sprawling cast, which includes returning actors Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner. Maybe director Adam MacKay and producer Judd Apatow are gearing up for another epic news team rumble?
We'll find out later this year. “Anchorman 2” opens Dec. 20.
