‘Star Wars' Gets the ‘Amour' Treatment in New Parody (VIDEO)

With both the upcoming "Star Wars" sequels for Disney and the Oscars on everyone's minds, it seemed like a good opportunity to mash the two together, which is what happened at the Cesar Awards (the French equivalent of the Academy Awards). This parody, which found its way to YouTube (complete with English subtitles), hilariously mixes the "Star Wars" world with the scenario and characters from last year's "Amour," which just won the Oscar for Best Foreign Feature. The clip features an elderly Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia in situations familiar to anyone who watched director Michael Haneke's beautiful meditation on love and aging. The best part is when the elderly Darth Vader calls his small dog "Chewbacca" -- and not just because it's the only thing in English. Who says the French aren't funny? The real "Star Wars: Episode VII," which will (in reality) be directed by JJ Abrams, is coming out in the not-too-distant future. A 2015 date has been penciled in (lightly), but no official word has come down from either Abrams or Disney.
