It's been more than a year since Melissa McCarthy climbed her way to the top of Comedy Mountain, thanks to her performance in the 2011 sleeper hit "Bridesmaids." And who did she find up there? Why, Jason Bateman, who became a fan favorite thanks to the following of his cancelled-then-uncancelled series "Arrested Development." Therefore, it was only a matter of time before these two met up on the big screen.
Luckily, moviegoers won't have to wait very long for that to happen, as the two stars are set to appear in "Identity Thief," which follows Diana (McCarthy), a shopaholic who has been funding her expenses with the stolen credit card of one Sandy Bigelow Patterson (Bateman). Of course, Bateman's Patterson eventually finds his way down to Florida to confront McCarthy's Diana over the purchases (comedy heavyweight fight!).
Now, Moviefone -- along with our sister site Huffington Post Entertainment -- is giving readers the first look at this upcoming flick, with the first two posters from the film.
Below you can see the poster of a smiling Bateman (though we suppose he won't be happy after he finds out what McCarthy has been up to). Make sure to head over to HP Entertainment to check out the McCarthy poster.
"Identity Thief" -- starring Bateman, McCarthy, Jon Favreau, Amanda Peet and T.I. -- is set to hit theaters on February 8, 2013. (Also, keep an eye out tomorrow for the first trailer from the film.)
