This weekend the spooky kooky, all-around brilliant “ParaNorman” haunts theaters nationwide. Not only is this stop-motion animated marvel heartfelt and funny, but it is also, at times, genuinely scary. Amazingly, in addition to "ParaNorman" there are still two horror-themed animated movies due for release before Halloween: Sony's computer-animated “Hotel Transylvania” and “Frankenweenie,” a black-and-white stop-motion flick from Disney and Tim Burton (based on an early short film Burton made for the studio).
With this supposed renaissance of animated horror movies upon us, it's time to dip back into the archives and pull out ten of the very best of the genre.
