Moviefone's New Release Pick of the Week
"The Artist"
What's It About? The Academy Awards' Best Picture of the Year just so happened to be a black-and-white silent film about a beloved actor who struggles to adjust to the advent of "talkies" in Hollywood.
See It Because: Even without hearing a word he says, Jean Dujardin (Best Actor Oscar winner) brings a full and expressive performance as movie star George Valentin. And while the film's approach is decidedly old-fashioned, it's a real crowd-pleaser. Oh and also, Uggie the Dog pretty much upstages everybody.

Family Release of the Week
"Mirror Mirror"
What's It About? Tarsem Singh ("The Fall," "Immortals") offers his own unique, stylized spin on the "Snow White" fairy tale, bringing Julia Roberts along as the Evil Queen.
See It Because: Tarsem's style has always been distinct -- full of lush colors, ornate flourishes and music video energy -- and he delivers that in spades, adding gleefully campy humor to the mix.

Blu-Ray Pick of the Week
"Deliverance" 40th Anniversary Edition
What's It About? Friends intent on taking a momentous river-rafting trip get more than they bargained for, when they encounter dangerous hillbillies in the backwoods of Georgia.
See It Because: It's not a pleasant movie by any means, but this gritty thriller is a '70s classic.

"Bullhead"
What's It About? This Belgian crime drama about a steroid-taking, bovine hormone smuggler, caught in a shady deal, is brutal to watch but one of 2011's best movies.

"The Decoy Bride"
What's It About? Kelly Macdonald (Princess Merida in "Brave") stars as a small-town Scottish girl, who is hired to distract the paparazzi away from a big American celebrity's wedding -- but then sparks begin to fly between her and the real groom; a fantastic cast full of Britain's brightest young stars is wasted on a tepid, formulaic romantic comedy.
See It or Skip It: Skip it.
(Also Available on Redbox | Amazon Instant Video)
"The Perfect Family"
What's It About? Kathleen Turner stars as a church-going mother who, in order to be named Woman of the Year at her local parish, must try to mold her family (including a lesbian daughter played by Emily Deschanel) into something resembling normal; the movie fails to really dig deep into dysfunctional family humor.
See It or Skip It: Skip it.
(Also Available on Redbox | Amazon Instant Video)
"A Thousand Words"
What's It About? Eddie Murphy loses whatever last shred of "comeback hope" he might have had on this bad "Liar, Liar" knockoff.
See It or Skip It: Skip it.
(Also Available on Redbox DVD & Blu-ray | Amazon Instant Video)
"21 Jump Street"
What's It About? It shouldn't have worked, but an R-rated, big-screen comedic update of the '80s Teen Beat undercover cop show is seriously funny.
See It or Skip It: See it.
(Also Available on Redbox DVD & Blu-ray | Amazon Instant Video)
"Wrath of the Titans"
What's It About? It's like 2010's "Clash of the Titans," but louder and cornier.
See It or Skip It: Skip it.
