Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand share a sensual song and a kiss in the new film "Rock of Ages," but to Baldwin, it's no big deal.
"It's not like 'Brokeback Mountain,' it's not two leading men who you are used to getting down with some gorgeous young girl," Baldwin told the Hollywood Reporter, referring to the 2005 film starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal. "It's a little more chaste because I'm older."
In the film, the two kiss at the culmination of singing REO Speedwagon's "Can't Fight This Feeling", a song originally about a man falling in love with a girl.
"We're in a fully realized age of equality in all things and it's not surprising or new" said the actor, comparing the sight of seeing two men kissing to the norms of "seeing women in power" or "seeing African American CEOs."
"I live where men and women who want to get married -- who gives a shit? No one gives it a thought."
"Rock of Ages," which is based on the Broadway play of the same name, comes out this Friday, June 15th. The rock opera stars Tom Cruise, Brand, Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Baldwin.
