Looks like Christina Applegate is going back to pleasure town.
The actress recently confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Veronica Corningstone in the highly anticipated sequel "Anchorman 2." She'll join the rest of The Channel Four News Team -- Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Fred Willard -- who've already signed onto the project. (Earlier this month, the boys reunited in a teaser trailer, which premiered in front of Sacha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator.")
As for the plot, Koechner recently dropped a few hints to Moviefone: "It's going to be centered around the next big change in news, after having females at the anchor desk. The next big event in the news was the cable news networks, the advent of 24-hour news," he said.
Previously, director/writer Adam McKay told Salon, "Keep in mind we're still writing the story, but I'll say one phrase for you: custody battle... I'll give you that. I'll give you one other one: bowling for dollars."
"Anchorman 2" is scheduled to hit theaters sometime in 2013.
