Without spoiling too much of its plot, "The Cabin in the Woods," arriving in theaters this weekend, has all the makings of a slasher movie classic: a hunky jock, a hot blonde, make-out sessions by the fireplace and getting frisky in the woods. And just like all the grisliest horror movies of the '70s and '80s, these burning-hot love scenes get punctuated by a freakishly evil killer, who enjoys wracking up a (young and fit) body count.
Slasher movies have always loved mixing up hormonal overdrive with sheer terror, but for far too long, all discussions of sexiness revolve around tight T-shirt-wearing co-stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, PJ Soles and Neve Campbell. What about Freddy, Jason or Michael Myers? They always get overlooked on "Sexy countdown" lists.
With it being Friday the 13th and with "Cabin in the Woods" shaping up to be a new classic, it's time to turn the tables on those babysitters, cheerleaders and showering bad girls.
