There must be some Occultists over at Universal. According to Deadline.com, the studio has just resurrected the movie "Ouija."
Based on the popular board game, the film was originally set to be directed by McG, but was eventually scrapped in 2011 due to a ballooning $150 million budget. The cancellation forced Universal to pay a $5 million penalty to game maker Hasbro, who controls the movie rights. The new version will apparently go on without McG but will still have Michael Bay signed on as a producer.
While plot details for "Ouija" are scarce, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out the story. (For example: As a dare, a group of teenagers decides to play Ouija in a graveyard and accidentally raise the dead ... or something.)
"Ouija" will possess moviegoers sometime in 2013.
