After middling in "Wonderland" and dealing with a 19th century demon barber, Tim Burton is returning to animation.
The last time the director embarked on a stop-motion project was 2005's "Corpse Bride." In "Frankenweenie," he's once again handling the dead. The film, a remake of a featurette Burton made back in the '80s, follows Victor Frankenstein as he attempts to bring his deceased dog, Sparky, back to life.
The first trailer for the movie just debuted, and it features the antics of the Frankenstein family, an appearance by Elsa van Helsing (voiced by Burton favorite Winona Ryder), and Victor's "raise the dead" experiment.
"Frankenweenie," which stars Ryder, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short and Martin Landau, his theaters Oct. 5.
