Three things to take away from the Telegraph profile on Dan Aykroyd: The comedian once went on a UFO-watching road trip with John Belushi, he markets his own premium vodka and sells it in a skull-shaped bottle, and he isn't expecting Bill Murray's "Ghostbusters 3" appearance to come true.
Aykroyd has finally confirmed that the actor who played Peter Venkman in the first two "Ghostbuster" films will not return.
"Bill Murray will not do the movie. He doesn't want to be involved. He's got six kids, houses all over America ... I know we'd have a lot of fun [but] I can't be mad at him," he said, echoing similar sentiments he made in a chat with Empire magazine earlier this month. Not that anyone should be surprised; Murray has long kept his possible involvement in another "Ghostbusters" at arms' length.
So, will "Ghostbusters 3" ever happen? Aykroyd wants it to, but for now, he admits that the project is in limbo.
"I honestly don't know [if it will be made]. At this point it's in suspended animation. The studio, the director Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis feel there must be a way to do it."
As for the rest of the profile, Aykroyd goes on to discuss the death of Belushi, the afterlife -- something he's believed in since he was a child -- and seances, a topic discussed with great frequency in his household.
You can read the entire feature over on the Telegraph. Aykroyd's next film, "Dog Fight," is out August 10, 2012.
