It might seem a little silly that Sony is rebooting the Spider-Man franchise just five years after the last Spider-Man movie came out -- by contrast, the same studio is releasing "Men In Black 3" this summer, ten years after part two -- but such is life in Hollywood. Still, fans worried that new director Marc Webb will besmirch the distant recent memory of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man movies with a tepid re-do should calm down. At least one part of "The Amazing Spider-Man" won't be like Raimi's "Spider-Man"; namely, the big kiss between Peter Parker and his lady love.
"You don't wanna know, you wanna watch the movie and find out," Emma Stone said during a press conference in Japan this week (you can watch it above).
As for trying to one-up the film's predecessor -- the famous upside-down kiss between Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst -- Stone said that was never a concern for her or Andrew Garfield (the Spider-Man to her Gwen Stacy).
"It would be weird if we were like, 'Yes, there will be something iconic coming up.' You've gotta decide if it's iconic or not. There is a nice first kiss, I will say that, and it's different than the upside-down one," she said, before adding, "We liked it." Yeah they did! Because OMG THEY ARE DATING IN REAL LIFE?!
Ahem. "The Amazing Spider-Man" is out in theaters on July 3.
