Lost Junket Interviews: Renee Zellweger Promotes 'Leatherheads'

When a new movie gets released, the stars of that movie will do an endless amount of short interviews with the hopes of convincing you that this new movie is the greatest movie ever. After that, those stars move on to promote a new project, which then becomes becomes the new greatest movie ever. Sadly, the prior film is usually forgotten. No more! Here at Moviefone, we've decided to honor the long lost junket interviews of the past. Leading off is Renee Zellweger, talking with Lovefilm.com about her 2008 movie, "Leatherheads." The football comedy, co-starring George Clooney, would finish third on its opening weekend, placing behind both "Nim's Island" and the second week of "21." "Leatherheads" would eventually gross just over $31 million domestically. During this interview, Zellweger describes her character, Lexie Littleton, as a "Trailblazer." She adds that Lexie is "unconventional and smart." Said Renee: "She's so witty; she gives as good as she gets." Describing "Leatherheads," Zellweger boasts, "They don't make movies like this anymore." To wrap things up, Zellweger reveals that she loves films that are "smart."
