"Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy"
Nominated For: Best Actor (Gary Oldman), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score
What's It About: Based on the famous novel by John le Carre, "Tinker" follows ex-British spy George Smiley (Oldman), who's brought back to the Circus (British intelligence -- in this movie, everything is spoken in code) to investigate a potential Russian spy. Soon, everyone's a suspect, including Smiley himself, as the viewer tries to unscramble a complicated web of deception.
Why You Should See It: "Tinker" is in the same vein as classic '70s spy films. Although the plot is a bit tangled and confusing, the fun of watching the film is digging in and attempting to solve the mystery. Also, the cast includes Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Jones and John Hurt.
It's Kind Of Like: A mix of 007, "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and the board game "Risk."
How You Can See It: "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" is available on DVD and Blu-ray on March 20. It is also still playing in some theaters now
