Nicolas Cage might have sold his castle, but that doesn't preclude him from sitting on a throne. Case in point! At a fan event on Friday night in Manhattan to celebrate this weekend's release of "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance," Cage posed next to a poster for the film by sitting on a throne. (Yes, those are skulls on the armrests.)
The eccentric Cage -- who, as you may have guessed, is not actually a vampire -- recently spoke to Moviefone about his career, which includes an Oscar win for "Leaving Las Vegas."
"It's not important to me," he said when asked about winning awards. "In fact, I think that if you go about making movies to win Oscars, you're really going about it the wrong way. I think that it's ... right now, what I'm excited about is trying to create a [pauses] kind of a cultural understanding through my muse that is part of the zeitgeist that isn't motivated by vanity or magazine covers or awards. It's more, not countercultural, but counter-critical. I would like to find a way to embrace what Led Zeppelin did, in filmmaking."
Check out Cage on his throne below. "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance" is in theaters on Friday.
