Has Wolverine finally met his match?
A new trailer for “The Wolverine” that debuted at CinemaCon a few weeks ago is finally available online and shows a brief glimpse of his nemesis, Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee). In the one-second flash, the mutant hero clashes against the Samurai's katana.
The minute-long trailer features plenty of action, with Logan fighting ninjas and the Yakuza in Japan, and one particularly cool shot of Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova) pulling her face off.
“The Wolverine” is set sometime after “X-Men: The Last Stand” and follows Logan to Japan, where he's protecting Mariko (Tao Okamoto) from gangsters. He teams up with Yukio (Rila Fukushima), a capable fighter in her own right.
“'He realizes everyone he loves dies, and his whole life is full of pain,'' Jackman told Entertainment Weekly. ''So it's better that he just escapes. He can't die really. He just wants to get away from everything.''
But when he faces the lethal steel of the Silver Samurai, the previously-immortal Logan must grapple with the idea of death.
"The Wolverine" hits theaters July 26.
