What's summer at the movie theater without car chases, superheroes, pyrotechnics, zombies and fight scenes? Action movies and superheroes are dominating the hottest season once again, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
Comic book fans should enjoy 2013's blockbuster season with the return of Iron Man in "Iron Man 3," "X-Men" favorite "The Wolverine," and a modern take on Superman in "Man of Steel."
It's not all superheroes this summer, though: we'll bear witness to a zombie invasion in "World War Z," and check out some insane car races/chases/explosions in "Fast & Furious 6." If you want to see Johnny Depp in another character role, you're in luck -- he's taking on the persona of Native American Tonto in "The Lone Ranger."
Here are our top 13 action and superhero picks for the summer. While we can't guarantee that they'll all be hits, we can promise you won't be bored.
