With the exception of the holidays, summer is when families go the movies most.

It's quite the lucky summer for movie-going parents, because 2013's slate of kid-friendly films includes the sequels of some favorite animated titles, brand-new Pixar ("Monsters University") and Blue Sky ("Epic") offerings, a concert doc that'll make the tween girls scream with joy ("One Direction: This Is Us"), and the biggest young-adult adaptation since "The Hunger Games" ("The Mortal Instruments").
