From dealing with men and Muppets to fine art and internationally renowned artists. Amy Adams will star and produce in "An Object of Beauty," a new film based on the novel by Steve Martin. Yep, that Steve Martin. Martin's book follows Lacey Yeager, a young New York art connoisseur who charms her way up the social ladder while tangling in romances with some of the top artists around the world. "Beauty" focuses on 15 years of Yeager's life, which also dovetails with the ebbs and flows of the art world in general. "We couldn't be happier to be working with the brilliant Amy Adams on this adaptation of Steve Martin's smart novel," said producers Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray. "This project continues on Maven's mission of making films that highlight strong female characters and talent." Adams was last seen in "The Muppets," but has quite a 2012 lined up. She'll appear in "On the Road," the long-awaited adaptation of Jack Keourac's seminal novel, play Lois Lane in "Man of Steel," Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, and co-star with Clint Eastwood in "Trouble With the Curve." Adams is also attached to Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master," but whether that hits theaters in 2012 or 2013 is undecided. [via THR]
