Well, this solidifies it: Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy really, really love each other. After co-starring in "Tinker Tailor Soldlier Spy," "Lawless," and "The Dark Knight Rises," they will now be in yet another movie together: an adaptation of historical thriller "Child 44" by Tom Rob Smith. "Child 44" concerns a series of child murders in Joseph Stalin's Soviet Union. Hardy will play a Soviet military officer investigating the murders, while Oldman will play a police chief who has his own suspicions about Hardy. Also in the cast: Noomi Rapace, as Hardy's wife, and Joel Kinnaman, as Hardy's lethal co-worker. Famed novelist and screenwriter Richard Price wrote the screenplay and Daniel Espinosa, who scored a minor hit with last year's "Safe House," will direct. Ridley Scott will produce. Since “Lawless” came out last year, Oldman has been working on the "RoboCop" remake and was just cast in Matt Reeves' "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," while Hardy spent much of 2012 filming George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road," and loosely attaching himself to a number of projects, including an adaptation of the videogame "Splinter Cell," and an Al Capone movie to be theoretically directed by "Harry Potter" director David Yates. Try as you might, you can't keep these two apart. [via THR]
