The “Fast and the Furious” franchise isn't putting on the brakes anytime soon. “Fast Six” hits theaters on May 24, “Fast 7” is in the works, and there are hints of a spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson.
Talking to Empire, The Rock teased that a spin-off for his character, Luke Hobbs, is forthcoming. But when can fans expect to see it?
“Possibly after this one,” Johnson said, referring to “Fast Six.”
“I'm not quite too sure. That's the goal. We continue to build that character and have him take shape, form. But yes, can't wait.”
In “Fast Six,” Hobbes offers Dominic Torretto's (Vin Diesel) crew pardons in exchange for taking down a mercenary group. A spinoff would likely follow the Diplomatic Security Service agent (and perhaps his new partner played by Gina Carano) as he hunts down criminals around the world.
A spin-off would make room for some fresh faces in “Fast Seven,” which features Jason Statham as the main antagonist as well as characters from “Tokyo Drift.”
Are you excited for a Luke Hobbs-centric “Fast & Furious” spinoff?
