"Skyfall" wasn't heralded as the "best Bond ever" for nothing. According to Deadline, the newest James Bond movie has just becoming the highest-grossing movie in U.K. history, making £94,277,612 ($151,795,059) at the box office, enough to de-throne James Cameron's "Avatar."
“We're overwhelmed with gratitude to the cinema-going audiences in the UK who have made 'Skyfall' the highest-grossing film of all time," producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said of the achievement. "We are very proud of this film and thank everybody, especially Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes, who have contributed to its success.”
Earlier this month, Sam Mendes relayed his happiness to Moviefone about the film's reception. "Skyfall" has currently raked up nearly $870 million worldwide in ticket sales.
