Best Hit Man Movies: 'Pulp Fiction,' 'Leon' And More

This weekend, Brad Pitt stars as Jackie Cogan, a ruthless killer who is sent to clean up after a couple of goons rob a mob-run card game, in the pretty much amazing "Killing Them Softly." As far as cold-hearted hit men go, Pitt's Cogan has the right mixture of swagger (he's got a mane of swept-back hair and a bushy ‘70s goatee) and mechanical insightfulness (he wants to get in and get the hell out). With a performance that includes one of the most memorable entrances in movies this year (almost as good as Javier Bardem's entry into "Skyfall"), Pitt manages to divorce himself of the charm and affability that has made him one of the biggest stars in the world. Cogan gets down to business. And his business is dirty. What's more is that Cogan is another great addition to the long history of cinematic assassins. So, in honor of "Killing Them Softly," lets look back at some of the best hit man movies of all time. Two to the chest. One to the head.
